#1 is to become VERY familiar with the mouse setup menus. On Microsoft Windows platforms, these can contain extremely useful features such as:
- Adjust Cursor (Pointer) Speed
- Primary Button Switching (switch left & right button functions)
- Double-Click Speed adjustment
- Click-Lock (Drag without holding down a button)
- Snap-to-Pointer Option(automatically move pointer into a dialog box)
- Disable the right button in some operating systems
- Adjusting the cursor appearance and size Please look at the settings available on your platform & configure your machine to obtain the best performance.
#2 TheLaZee Mouse or Body Sensor is not limited to being positioned on the head. Being mounted in the same general orientation (horizontal) is the most effective, however; other positions are not excluded. The imagination can provide many possibilities for utilizing the these devices. Don’t be afraid to experiment. If you think you have an unusual usage, let us know! info@lazeetek.com
#3 The LaZee Mouse and Body Sensor will even operate upside down, however; this will make the direction of cursor travel operate backwards than that of the upright position. If you desire to operate it in this position, just let us know & we can reprogram it at the factory for this at no charge when ordering. Wearing unit underneath the wrist would be an example.
#4 The LaZee Mouse and/or Body Sensor can be used at the same time as the existing computer mouse or notebook scroll pad. There is no need to disconnect them. They can be used simultaneously as an aid during familiarization.
#5 If it’s desired to have external buttons to “click” with, but utilize the LaZee Mouse or Body Sensor only for cursor movement: take an old style roller mouse & remove the ball from it! This will provide a quick & easy way to add “click” switches, without causing cursor movement when touching the roller mouse. Alternately, there are stand-alone mouse click switches available from various switch vendors that can be used in conjunction with our mice.
#6 While it seems that the cursor goes “way off” the edge of the screen, in reality, it only goes to the edge and stops. It cannot be moved so far off the screen that it can’t be brought back. At worst it is only just over the edge. Reversing the direction of movement should bring it back into view almost immediately. An option to prevent losing a cursor would be to utilize a cursor wrapping tool. These software utilities cause the cursor to “wrap-around” the computer screen. When it goes off one side it emerges on the opposite side. This can also be used to move quicker from one side of the screen to the other. See our links for “Cursor Wrapping”
#7 Finding a “lost” cursor. Attempt to move the cursor in a circle. Increase the sizes of the circle until the cursor becomes visible. Alternately, There is a feature in the Windows mouse settings that will cause a bulls-eye to appear around the cursor when the Ctrl key is pressed. The bulls-eye is visible even when the cursor is off screen. To enable this feature select “Show location of cursor when I press the Ctrl key” in the mouse “Pointer Options” tab.
#8 Be Patient with your new Mouse! Remember how awkward it was the first time you used a conventional mouse!! Start out with slow mouse settings and gradually speed them up as your proficiency builds. It will take practice to become comfortable using your LaZee or eeZee Mouse. Depending on your application, it may be practical to utilize both your new mouse and your existing pointing device(s).
- Rule of Thumb:
- · Frustrated with control problems- Reduce speed setting.
- · Impatient with slow movement- Increase speed setting.
#9 A quick way to remember how awkward a standard mouse can be is to try using it in the opposite hand!
#10 Under System requirements, Microsoft Windows 98 is not listed. That is because the drivers required for the LaZee Mouse Pro are not part of the normal Windows 98 installation, although it can be used with such. If the LaZee Mouse or eeZee Mouse is connected to a Windows 98 system, the Windows installation manager will prompt the user through the installation steps on how to install the required drivers. (The Windows 98 CD will be required for this process). After this one time installation has been successfully performed, the LaZee or eeZee Mouse will operate normally.
#11 Decorating of YOUR new Mouse is encouraged. The warranty of your unit will not be affected by changes to the EXTERIOR coloring of your unit. (please! no drilling holes, or .... allowed). The LaZee Mouse is constructed of plastic, a material very similar to that of a standard model kit. Model paints & colorings should work well if desiring to add a little “uniqueness” to your unit.
#12 Using the LaZee Mouse in any environment, where an occasional external sound can cause an undesired click to occur. Many microphones are available with a mute switch. This can provide an option for periods where clicking may not be allowed. The eeZee Mouse PRO has a mute input for this purpose.
#13 LaZee Mouse Switch hookups call for a Stereo connection. (For Option 0 , a mono plug will work properly.)
